THE MONTE CRISTO (ADULTS ONLY), San Francisco

The Monte Cristo (Adults Only) is a bed and breakfast with 14 rooms. It is located in the posh Pacific Heights neighborhood in San Francisco. The area features architecturally significant homes, including the Spreckels Mansion and the 1886 Haas-Lilienthal house. Some rooms offer views of the marina and Bay below.

Rooms come equipped with new beds with lush duvets, antiques, and hardwood floors. Most rooms have Persian rugs. Each room includes a bathroom, individual heating, Wi-Fi, an LCD HDTV with Netflix, and an alarm clock. Select rooms feature a marble bathroom with a European-styled rain shower over a full tub, a towel warmer, and a heated toilet seat with bidet. Other rooms offer a walk-in shower, a towel warmer, and a heated toilet seat with bidet. A front-facing room has hardwood floors with a Persian rug. One corner junior suite, located in the original 1875 structure, features a city view from the window alcove. This suite includes a separate sitting room with a TV and a futon sofa bed. Some rooms feature soundproof windows.

A continental breakfast is served daily from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. It includes fresh fruits, yogurt, and pastries, with gluten-free options. Breakfast also includes scrambled eggs or sunnyside up eggs, bacon, sausage or turkey sausage, scrambled tofu with vegetables, quiche, yogurt, granola, coffee and tea, and orange juice. Lactose-free, soy, oat, and almond milk are available.

The hotel is located near the restored Victorian shops, restaurants, and antique stores on Sacramento Street. Union Street and Fillmore Street shopping are within walking distance. Taxi service is available at SFO, costing around $60 and taking 25 minutes. Lyft, Uber, and YoTaxiSF are available via smartphone for approximately $45. The Enterprise car rental is located on Geary Blvd.

The hotel provides complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi. A computer/email kiosk is available. ADA kits are available, and staff is trained to offer assistance.
