Location details
Panamint Springs Motel & Tents is located 32 miles west of Stovepipe Wells in the Panamint Valley. Darwin Falls is located approximately 1 mile away. From Las Vegas, take Highway 160 West to Pahrump, then Highway 190 toward Death Valley and Furnace Creek. From Los Angeles, take 14 Freeway North, which becomes Main Street for Mojave, then Highway 395 north.
General store services
Check-in for the motel and campground is at the gas station and general store. The store sells gasoline (87, 89, & 91 octane and diesel), ice cream, snacks, beverages, sundries, camping supplies, apparel, and gifts. ATM is available. The resort operates completely off grid, using a diesel generator for electricity 24/7.
“While appearing a bit rough at first glance, this motel offers an appealingly functional base for exploring Death Valley, especially given the limited options within the park itself. The basic cabins provide essential comfort, and the on-site restaurant and store are unexpectedly convenient for such a remote location. For those prioritizing park access over polished amenities, this could be a worthwhile choice.”
