Kit Carson Lodge features 18 cabins and eight hotel rooms. Cabins can accommodate from two to eight people, while hotel rooms are recommended for adults only (10+ years). Cabins include full kitchens with a refrigerator/freezer, gas range, and necessary cookware. Hotel rooms are for guests not wishing to cook. Cabins offer wood-burning stoves, propane wall heaters, and outdoor decks. Hotel rooms feature decks overlooking Silver Lake. Pet-friendly cabins are available for an additional fee of $25 per day. Mackinaw cabin offers a queen bed, full kitchen, wood-burning stove, and larger restroom/shower. Rainbow cabin has a double bed in the bedroom and a daybed in the living room. Loch Leven cabin has a queen bed in the bedroom and a sofa in the living room. Hotel rooms feature lake views; Lodgepole room has two twin beds. Tamarak room offers a queen bed, and White Pine includes a queen and a twin bed.

Activities and Events
Kit Carson Lodge provides access to Silver Lake for swimming, canoeing, kayaking, and motor boating (rentals available from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.). Fishing is popular, with Rainbow, German Brown, and Mackinaw Lake trout stocked in the lake. Gabby's Gold Rush Tours offers guided trips to historical sites. Hiking trails are available in the Carson Pass area. The lodge has a nightly campfire. Wine tasting events with local wineries take place on Tuesday nights from 5 to 7 p.m.
