A continental breakfast is served daily. The White Horse Tavern, located at Hotel Beresford next door, maintains its original 1960s design and offers popcorn and pub snacks at the bar. Pearl's Burger delivers burgers and fries, including the Bula burger with bacon and spicy pineapples, and garlic fries. Sanraku offers sushi. Lapisara provides an extensive brunch menu and American-Thai fusion dishes for dinner. Trader Joes is about 8 blocks from Hotel Beresford and has a modest parking lot.

Guests can find live theater at the San Francisco Playhouse, one block from the hotel, and at the Marine Memorial Theater, practically next door. Cheaper Than Therapy, a stand-up comedy venue, is also one block away at the Shelton Theater. The Golden Gate Theater makes you feel like you're taking a step back in time and has musicals.

The Beresford Arms is located in downtown San Francisco, two blocks from Union Square and near the cable car line. It is near many restaurants, happy-hour spots and date-night destinations, including the Tadich Grill. The hotel is near the Marrakech Magic Theater and the Orpheum. Go Bike by Ford, an e-bike rental service, has a station on Post St in Union Square. Avis Car Rental and Budget are located within the same building on Post Street, a half-block away. The hotel is listed on the National Register Of Historic Places as one of the architecturally significant structures that comprise San Francisco's Nob Hill Historical District.
